Progress Club of Las Cruces

The club celebrates its 110th year of volunteerism in the Las Cruces Community in 2025.


Our club currently consists of 60+ members and meets monthly September through May. We host multiple annual events including a fantastic Golf Tournament to raise funding for scholarships and local philanthropic needs.

Our book club meets once a month, sometimes at another member's home or at a local restaurant. One of our largest social groups (and definitely the most pages turned!) They pick their own list of books every year so bring your favorite titles to share with us!

Since we have such a vast array of ladies joining us from all walks of life, experiences and locations on the map, we have subcommittees to really get those creative ideas flowing. Some of them being: Health and Wellness, Signature Program (domestic and sexual violence awareness and prevention), Civic Engagement, Environment, Education, and Membership to name a few.

This last year we joined up with a local shop to bring Las Cruces a wonderful Fashion Show for a Cause. We sold tickets and had our own members and friends walking the runway as models!

What a great time to take a break and hit the road (usually), meet members from other places and exchange ideas on how to better yourself and your Club. New Mexico currently participates in three if desired! We currently have members who participate in all three levels of Conventions: local, State and International.

Going to the meetings certainly gets you all the info you need on current events, subcommittees, future events and brainstorming new volunteer paths for members, but before the meetings we have a social hour to catch up with all your fellow members. Sometimes you find out who your next golf buddy or Bunko alternate!

The motto of the GFWC as a whole organization is "Living the Volunteer Spirit". We make sure to get involved with new projects, be innovative and find new organizations to link arms with to make sure we are fulfilling our duty as GFWC Clubwomen, so bring those organizations and ideas!
